This bridge accommodates nature by being raised as it traverses wetlands and natural vegetation. The ThruFlow™ material used on the deck is perfect in that it allows both water and sunlight to flow through. Especially when such as bridge is several feet off the ground, the underlying vegetation has in large measure, its previous natural environment preserved.
Of course the decking material also offers benefits to human-kind as well. This decking will never rot in this humid Savannah area locale. Nothing can grow off the high tech composite material, as it provides no sustenance. In this environment where the dew remains well into the day, the slip resistant textured surface makes walking comfortable and safe. No slip and fall here !
ThruFlow™ is generally placed across the width of the walkway. There are 3, 4 and 5 foot sizes available, plus a 4 x 4 foot panel as well. You can achieve load ratings up to about 170 lbs per square foot. You can choose natural colors of tan, gray, or white, with the first two being the most popular do to their ability to blend with nature and wood structures.
